Arborist Services of Kalamazoo, LLC specializes in the practice of Arboriculture helping property owners manage the condition of all sizes of trees and shrubs and establish site-adapted native woody plants.

Arboriculture is a branch of Landscape Horticulture concerned with the planting and care of individual trees and shrubs. Persons with a core competence in Arboriculture are referred to as an arborist and understand how woody plants respond to planting, care, growth defects, microclimate and soil characteristics. An arborist applies their understanding of plant growth response to all aspects of managing tree and shrub condition - form, health and structure and in selecting, planting and establishing woody plant species.

International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) supports the practice of tree and shrub management through accreditation, proficiency and safety standards, professional development and research. The ISA promotes public awareness of best management practices for trees and shrubs through its TreesAreGood.org educational website.

ISA Certified Arborist is the accreditation achieved by an arborist from the ISA qualified by years of experience or education, passing of an extensive exam and maintaining documented continuing education. An ISA Certified Arborist may achieve advanced qualification and accreditation such as the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification or the Board-Certified Master Arborist accreditation.

Our ISA Certified Arborists, in addition to practicing all aspects of Arboriculture, assist our customers with:

• scheduling appointment requests
• performing arborist evaluations and follow-up visits
• proposing and performing pruning, plant disorder treatment, supplemental support installation, removal, grade restoration and native planting.

Each of our ISA Certified Arborists maintain certification in:

• Aerial Rescue Training 
• Electrical Hazards Awareness
• First Aid/CPR
• Aerial Lift and Crane Operation

• American National Standard for Tree Care Operations (ANSI A300),
• American National Standard for Safety Requirements for Arboricultural Operations (ANSI Z133)
• MIOSHA General Industry Standard for Tree Trimming and Removal (Part 53)
